Please be good…

I’m trying. I mean I am really trying to get hyped up for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. I want this movie to be good with every fiber of my being. I want it to be what the Godzilla movies were for me as a kid running into the video store (geezer story time alert) because Mom & Dad were going to a bull roast and it was cheaper to rent a movie & buy a pizza then find a babysitter. I devoured those Godzilla movies. I watched the damn cartoon in 1978. I had toys. I had the lunchbox.

However, that Bryan Cranston movie a few years ago was not good and the Matthew Broderick movie from 1998 was a steaming turd with a 2+ hour runtime and I just don’t know if I am ready to cough up more dough to go to IMAX 3D and leave feeling like I watched Bridezilla only with a depowered Eleven for some reason.

I’m trying. I’m just not there yet. Maybe the next trailer will grab me.
