Huge New Assassins Creed Origins Update and DLC Dates!
It’s official, dear readers! Ubisoft has finally announced the release date for the previously-announced DLC for Assassins Creed Origins, known as The Hidden Ones and The Curse of the Pharoahs.
According to the game’s lore, The Hidden Ones will be a story-driven expansion to Assassins Creed Origins, taking place approximately four years after the events of the core game. In the new story, Bayek of Siwa will become embroiled in a battle between the newly formed Hidden Ones, and the Roman forces who occupy the Sinai Peninsula. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 23rd, as we delve back into the world of Ancient Egypt with Bayek of Siwa for The Hidden Ones.
Ahead of the release, a new patch has also hit the game today. The patch adds the Nightmare, First Civilization, Gladiator, and Wacky packs to the Heka Chest loot pool. It also makes it so outfits can be sold at Weaver shops, and adds a new quest known as Incoming Threat. The quest is said to be the precursor to The Hidden Ones, so we may get a taste of what’s to come next week.
The Hidden Ones DLC will also be a relatively large update to the game. It will tweak things a bit, increasing the level cap to 45 (from its previous cap of 40); as well as adding four new Legendary weapons, a new outfit for Bayek, two new mounts, several new weapons (outside of the Legendary ones), and even two new gear-crafting levels.

Look at that glorious bow!
The Ubisoft devs also added a Q&A about the new DLC to the Ubisoft website, and it gives a lot of good information about what we might come to expect from The Hidden Ones.
Not only did Ubisoft release the date info for The Hidden Ones, but they also let us know when the other two DLCs would hit our consoles. First, we found out that the new non-combat DLC called The Discover Tour will drop on February 20th, and will be available as a free download for all players. It will also be available as a standalone experience via Steam and Uplay. Second, Ubisoft gave us details about the SECOND DLC expansion – The Curse of the Pharoahs. This one (for which I’m particularly excited) will release free to all Season Pass holders on March 6th, 2018 and will also be offered as a separate purchase for those who opted against the Season Pass.

ZOMBIE PHAROAHS, YOU GUYS!
The Curse of the Pharoahs will take place in Thebes, and is said to focus more on Ancient Egyptian mythology (much like the Apep fight in Origins). The story will see Bayek go up against not only mythological beasts from the time, but also some pharaohs of the old kingdom who have been brought back to life through some mysterious force. This DLC will again raise the level cap – this time to 55 – and will bring in even more new gear. More outfits, as well as rare and Legendary weapons will be added, each with an Egyptian mythology flair to them.
Are you as excited as we are for the new DLC, dear readers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
I still need to finish the main story! But this gives me motivation to continue working on that 🙂
