Here’s Your Assassins Creed Odyssey Launch Trailer!

The release date for Assassins Creed Odyssey is fast-approaching, dear readers. And, if you’ve read any of my stuff on the Assassins Creed franchise, you can probably guess how excited I am for this one. Yes, I’m a bit of a fanboy.

DEAL WITH IT

That’s why, when I checked my YouTube feed this morning, I was thrilled to see the new launch trailer for this highly-anticipated title from Ubisoft. With this chapter set up to be the most epic Assassins Creed adventure to date, we’re just getting a small peek at what the game has in store for us. Still, it’s incredible.

Assassins Creed Odyssey is set to take players on a trip all over Ancient Greece. Showing off glimpses of some awesome (and brutal) sword fighting, horseback combat, and of course, the stealth for which this series is known. In this trailer specifically, we see a focus on our male protagonist, Alexios. We know that he (or she if you choose to play as Kassandra) will be bequeathed the Spear of Leonidas (which is undoubtedly a Piece of Eden), and that he will clearly face a lot of trials and hardship in his life. I mean, this wouldn’t be an Assassins Creed game without that, would it?

This game isn’t going to be all brutality and murder, though. From the looks of things, there will be romance blossoming in Sparta, as well as supernatural intrigue using characters from Greek mythology. We already know that the Gorgon, Medusa, will make an appearance in the game, but we’re also left to wonder where she (and the other mythological beings) fit in the overall Assassins Creed narrative.

Depending on the version of the game you purchased, friends, Assassins Creed Odyssey will be available to play on October 2nd for those who got early access, and October 5th for everyone else. Since the series will take a hiatus in 2019, this will be our big chance to get back into the world of Assassins, Templars, and Those Who Came Before.

Will you be playing this one, friends? Let us know in the comments below!
