Have you ever looked at Nathan Drake and thought, “Man, he kinda looks like Nathan Fillion”? Well, it seems that you’re not the only one who thought so. The actor (famous for his work on Firefly and Castle) and his wonderful team of gamer & theater people have gotten together to make a short tribute film to the hero of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted franchise.

This really is a joy to watch. The fifteen minute fan-film is a nearly-perfect homage to the iconic video game series. It’s got action, it’s got a great amount of adventure, it’s got neat twists, some historical references that folks may not have heard of before, and it even switches to what they’re calling “Video Game Mode” during a (really well-shot) gun fight.

While the official big-screen movie version of Uncharted may not see the light of day for some time (if ever), this short film really scratches our itch for more Nathan Drake in our lives. Thank you, Nathan Fillion. You are always welcome on our screens.
