If you just love mecha animes like me or have been curious about the early start of the Gundam franchise, this is probably gonna break your face. Hulu, the subscription based streaming site, has added FIVE Mobile Suit Gundam series to their site. The series are as followed (in chronological order):

• Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin (1979)
• Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (1995)
• Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08^th MS Team (1996)
• Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (2007)
• Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Remastered (2012)

At the current time, BOTH seasons of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 are up which is amazing since Hulu did not specify if both seasons were going up; it was said first seasons, at least, would go up.

 

I’m SUPER excited for this because so far Hulu will be the only site that will be streaming the full season of the older Gundam series that were revolutionary for the mecha genre of anime. Crunchyroll streams seven episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn and a few of the OVA episodes from the older series I listed above.

This will allow those who have access to a Hulu account to binge the Gundam series of the past and play catch up in the Gundam franchise, if they haven’t already. I came into Gundam via Gundam Wing and there were some episodes I missed, as well as some other series in the franchise that were before my time or hard to find. Gundam helped me appreciate mecha animes and get me into the genre so I’m excited that the series that got me started will be available for a different generation. If I’m allowed to be greedy, I HOPE they also add Mobile Fighter G Gundam…I hope!
