Nintendo goes retro with the NES Classic Edition.

It seems that Nintendo has found the secret to success: tapping into the retro market. Riding on the retro coattails of Pokémon Go!, Nintendo will be releasing the “NES Classic Edition”.

“We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo’s original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s President and COO. “The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition is ideal for anyone who remembers playing the NES, or who wants to pass on those nostalgic memories to the next generation of gamers.”

Built to fit in the palm of your hand, the NES Classic Edition comes pre-installed with 30 classic Nintendo games including, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Donkey Kong. It also comes with modern conveniences such as HDMI connections and multiple suspend points (no more needing to remember passwords). It also comes with a controller, built on the lines of the original NES controller, that can be plugged into a Wii Remote; allowing it to be used to play Virtual Console games on a Wii or Wii U.

It is a cartridge-less unit, but you’ll have plenty to choose from. Here’s the complete list of games:

"Man. Myth. Legend. Ladies Man." There are many words that can be used to describe Manny...unfortunately, none of those apply. "DJ, Cat Lover, Man-Child, Wookie" will have to do.
