The Sartorial Geek: Geek Bling
Personally, I have never been one to wear or own lots of jewelry. I can count the number of rings that I’ve owned and worn over the course of my entire life on one hand. With that said, I have tended to only wear items of this nature that have some sort of meaning to me. While many pieces have had sentimental value, some have been very much an expression of my passions and geekdom. A item has to be special and unique to catch me eye, and in today’s world there are certainly plenty of options.
Rings
There are plethora of fandom related rings on the market. While my left hand is reserved for only one ring, my right is adorned with a black metal ring emblazoned with the Superman logo. It’s a simple ring but it was given to me by very special people. If you are looking to give a ring to a really special person then a custom made ring might be the way to go.
Necklaces
For necklaces my situation is the same as rings. I’ve never worn anything fancy but it’s usually heartfelt. Back in the day the Skull One dog tags that came with the Robotech Battlecry collector’s edition was religiously around my neck but nowadays it’s just a simple chain and a family charm. If I was looking for a necklace for myself or someone that I know, it might look a bit like one of these.
Lapel Pins
Now as I am in a jacket and tie almost everyday, lapel pins are right up my alley. One of the best things about lapel pins is that they are unisex. Lapels pins can take the shape of the logo or symbol of your favorite property, an actual character from that property, or well they can take the shape of just about anything that you want including (my favorite) chemical structures.

Being a fan is a wonderful experience! Having the tools to express your fandom can make the experience 100X better. Why not do it with a bit of bling to brighten up your day.
