Yahoo debuted the Assassins Creed first look of Michael Fassbender as an Assassin.

As we all know, this movie has been in development hell for several years. It has gone through different rewrites, casting, and production changes. According to Yahoo, Fassbender will be playing Callum Lynch (an original character developed for the movie and not in any game) who finds out he is related to an Assassin and will take on the Templars.

Here is the plot per Yahoo:

Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.

The release date is set for December 16, 2016 and there has been no announcement on if there will be any games tied in to this move.
