Quick Bites: Dogs and Dumplings
So we checked out 2 spots in Washington, DC at lunch and had to pass on the good word about these eateries.
First up, if you are ever at Union Station, while you wait for your train, make sure you go downstairs and check out all the eateries. One in particular is Bold Bites which is a gourmet hot dog stand. This place may seem like it’s pricey for a dog, but it’s well worth it. The DC Classic is great but today’s entry is the DC Guac and as you can see below, it’s LOADED. Try it along with some Hot n Spicy ketchup and it will really make your day!
You will be really surprised how filling these dogs and fries are! Too bad stadiums don’t have this quality of dog and fries.
Next up, as we told you before, the food truck game is stepping up and while some places may get run of the mill trucks, it’s an excellent day when the Moh!! Moh!! Dumplings truck comes around. The only minus was that the menu was slightly confusing but it was made up when server let me mix and match my order. He combined my dumpling combo with the Indo-Chinese combo which resulted in a nice filling lunch! They also have a nice assortment of desserts in case you need to cap things off.
What I really like about some of these trucks like this one, is for what you pay for, you get a lot of food. So, they are highly recommended when they come back again!
