  1. Who or what inspired you to cosplay?

Well when Blackest Night came out I fell in love with the Red Lanterns and I wanted a Red Lantern costume so bad to wear for Halloween that year but couldn’t find one anywhere. Then I thought to myself, “Wait people go to Comic Convention dressed as these characters.” So I did a Google search and came across this group called the League of Lanterns and they got me in touch with someone that could make the costume but he couldn’t have it ready for Halloween. So I got the costume after Halloween and had no place to wear it to and then I thought, “Wait, Wizard World is coming to Philly at the end of May I’ll wear it then.” And that was one the hardest things I had to do was to wear that costume out in public and I felt. I’m very shy at times so imagine a shy guy in spandex walking around in public with that skin tight costume on. But it was so rewarding in the end.

  1. Best costume that you pulled off that you thought you could not. What were some of the reactions that you got on it?

Star Boy from the Legion of Superheroes. Star Boy is not a popular character in the DC universe but I love the look of the costume and I love the fact that Star Boy is a hero of color. Most people didn’t know who the character was but they loved the look of the costume and they told me that I looked great in it.

  1. Would bother you if someone else is cosplaying the same character you are?

One time it did but that is “human nature” that some of us have in us but I say to myself it’s silly to act that way because I don’t own that character and I can’t control what other people like to do and it is great that more people like the same character you do. I say more the merrier. I would like one day to recreate Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation video with a group of people in Power Rangers costumes.

  1. What are your favorite cons to go to for cosplay and what has made them so fun?

Baltimore Comic Con, I’ve met some really nice people there and it’s still just about the comics; not big blockbusters movies and stars. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to meet stars from your favorite shows and movies but at times it can be a little too much.
