Stealing a line from my man, Ice Cube, I have to say… today was a good day. VGU CON debuted today at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. A show attempting to bring some of the PAX/E3 style experience to the DC metro area. It’s a type of show I want to have in this area and I know the feeling is mutual amongst many of the people in this area. The founders behind the show are awesome people and our passionate about bringing the experience to us all and I am happy to see today it becoming reality for them.

If you didn’t make it today, you missed out on some retro arcade games, and gaming on every system from the Nintendo 8 bit system, Dreamcast, Jaguar to the current and next gen consoles.  You missed out on the panels, the awesome conversation we had with Chris Gore. You find’t see Clinton Portis, Dante Basco and Janina Gavankar getting involved in celebrity gaming.  You missed out on the Madden and FIFA tournaments and so much more! Did you know Richard Epcar and Ellyn Stern were there?

And did tell you guys about the cosplay contest, where our winner won $1000 dollars?  We all had so much fun hanging out today?

While every new con/show has its growing pains, I hope everyone continues to join us for the ride as we make it bigger and better next year and the years after!
