How long have you been cosplaying?
I’ve been cosplaying since I was a teen in high school however at first it was just for fun without a goal in mind.
What characters have you cosplayed the most?
The characters I have done the most as of now would include: Afro from Afro Samurai, Nanami from JJK, and Jaden from YU-GI-OH GX.

Who Or What Inspired you to cosplay?
Honestly, my friends did as I was growing up. They and their families were active cosplayers that had taken part in a cosplay your own way type of initiative for black cosplayers to feel comfortable expressing themselves as a multitude of characters.
What Do You Do When You Aren’t Cosplaying (day job/hobbies)?
I work a day job as an engineer and sometimes do odd jobs as well. I draw from time to time and plan to start playing musical instruments again soon. I practice martial arts regularly in the discipline of Shaolin Kung Fu. Besides that I’m turning into a gym rat due to a mix of reasons: from doing fitness based cosplays as well as being there to help my friends exercise.
What Costumes have provided the biggest challenges/rewards so far and why?
So far Afro Samurai has yielded the best results and Jaden Yugi. However My JJK cosplays are a close second at the moment. All the JJK shoots yielded a lot of content from reels to images that have helped promote my page.
What Is the best advice you would give to other cosplayers of color?
Honestly just don’t be afraid of expressing yourself to the point that you don’t take chances and experiment with your style. The point of cosplay isn’t to just be a exact copy of the character in question but to express your version of the character as well. Allow people to see who you are as well through your cosplay and your creative mind at display.
What things could the cosplay community do better when relating to one another?
Being more accepting at times of each others different levels of experience at this craft of ours. We all start somewhere and we should help each other rise!
