What characters have you cosplayed the most?
I did 31 Cosplays for Halloween last year and they were all horror themed. So scary movie characters are my niche

Who or what inspired you to cosplay?
I love creating and crafting things out of what people might consider trash. I was going to do a Candyman cosplay for Halloween and then when Tony Todd passed away I just went all out and celebrated the whole month with Cosplays that I made entirely from items I or someone else had already owned.

What do you do when you aren’t cosplaying (day job/hobbies)?
I create art to let my Geek Flag Fly, I raise my 6 cats, and I try my hardest to escape the matrix that makes me feel trapped in capitalism!

What costumes have provided the biggest challenges/rewards so far and why?
My Candyman Cosplay was challenging because I really wanted to give it my all. It was the first cosplay I worked on, and it was the last one I completed. I was beyond proud of myself for how well it turned out…but any cosplay that included grease paint was a multi shower journey. I’ve loved painting for years, so faced painting was another layer of fun.

What is the best advice you would give to other cosplayers of color? 
Keep going! The joy that you feel for accomplishing something fun and creative that you set your mind to will outweigh and drown out any fear of other people’s opinions that you may have. Don’t allow anyone to limit you, even yourself.

What one thing could the cosplay community do better when relating to one another?
Do not place your personal expectations on another creators art.
