In Memoriam: Christopher Plummer

Legendary actor Christopher Plummer passes away at the age of 91.

I have been acting for over 30 years. I have never met another performer who did not respect Christopher Plummer or have a favorite role that he played. For me it’s when he played Mike Wallace in The Insider, but in my heart I will always remember him first as the voice of the narrator in The Velveteen Rabbit. If you asked 25 other people you’d quite possibly get 25 different answers. And they’d all be the correct answer.

Plummer was the kind of actor who could step into a role and make it look like he had been playing it forever. Even if he REALLY hadn’t. The fact that he worked professionally for over 60 years and you never heard one bad story about him tells you that he was as classy in his private life as he was in his public one. From The Thorn Birds to Knives Out, Star Trek to The Sound of Music, Christopher Plummer made everything better.

He was 91.
