Sony Announces PlayStation Classic

In a move that surprises nobody in the wake of the success of both the NES Classic and SNES Classic, Sony has announced the release of the PlayStation Classic.

Coming this December 3rd (just in time for the Christmas holidays), it will will have an MSRP of $99.99. It will come pre-loaded with 20 games, including fan classics such as Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms (the full list will be released as it gets closer to release). With a form-factor identical to the classic console, it is 45% smaller than the original–which means that it will fit comfortably on the shelf with the other retro-flavored emulator consoles. Along with the usual HDMI and USB power connections, it will come with two controllers to make it easier to relive those fun memories with your friends and family. Time will tell if Sony’s supply lines will be able to weather the flood of orders that they will no doubt have to fulfill or if it will be a repeat of Nintendo’s scarcity of NES Classics when they were first released.

Will you be getting one? Let us know below along with what games you hope to see preloaded on the unit.

"Man. Myth. Legend. Ladies Man." There are many words that can be used to describe Manny...unfortunately, none of those apply. "DJ, Cat Lover, Man-Child, Wookie" will have to do.
