A lot has happened to Superman and Supergirl recently finding out that Krypton was not destroyed naturally but by a ruthless alien.
Supergirl #21 finds Kara starting to look for the beings responsible for the destruction of Krypton. Kara is very emotional and Clark tries to tell her that revenge is not the answer and that there are other ways of finding the answers. Kara’s fire is fueled by the memories of all the people she lost on Krypton. Kara leaves Earth with Krypto to find answers with the Green Lantern Corps. Will Kara find the answers she is looking for?
Marc Andreyko writes an emotional story that has so much heart. I sympathized with Kara so much throughout this issue. She has lost so much in her life but in reflecting on what she has lost she is also reminded of everything she has gained. My favorite moment is when Kara is about to leave and Krypto shows up with a letter from Clark. The letter is so touching and heartwarming that it brought tears to my eyes. I have to say that Andreyko is the right writer for this series.
The art by Kevin Maguire is beautiful and it compliments the story from Marc Andreyko. The emotions that Kara goes through are drawn so well that the reader can feel the things she is feeling at that moment. The art in the scene where Krypto surprises Kara is wonderfully done and Krypto looks fantastic. Even the aliens that show up in this book look great. I can’t say enough about the art.
I couldn’t find anything wrong with this book and I am so excited for the team of Marc Andreyko and Kevin Maguire. I look forward to seeing more from this team.
5 Excited Krypto’s out of 5
