Cosplay Spotlight: Bloodborne Beauty!
Cosplay Name: Bloodborne Beauty.
Where are you from or where do you reside currently? Connecticut.
How long have you been cosplaying? Since I was 16.
Other Characters Cosplayed: My favorite character to cosplay is Harley Quinn because she’s such a fun person to interact with in real life. Other characters I cosplay are Yuno Gasai, Black Widow, Jinx, and Alice. I try to have a selection of characters from comics, video games, and anime.

Who or what inspired you to cosplay? I would have to say my mom inspired me to cosplay. She always dressed up for Halloween and I guess you could say it was genetic! She’s supported every aspect of my cosplaying, as now it’s Halloween in our house all year long. The amazing cosplay community has also inspired me, as everyone I have met has been accepting and friendly. There is little negativity and it is truly a giant family of people supporting each other.

What do you do when you aren’t cosplaying? I’m in nursing school so I don’t have time to work outside of school, but when I’m not cosplaying I’m normally crafting for a cosplay! I do a lot of photo shoots and planning for blueprints, new ideas for cosplays, and possible charity events conventions to do to. I also do a lot of studying and worrying about grades like every other college student!

What costumes have provided the biggest challenge and rewards so far and why? The biggest challenge has been my brotherhood T-45 armor which I’ve been working on for a couple months now. It’s been a challenge as it’s an intense armor piece and the first I’ve ever done (I must hate myself)! It’s been really awesome to see something from one of my favorite games come to life, though, and I’m excited to hopefully debut it at a convention this summer.

What is the best advice you would give someone new to cosplaying? Have fun and be ready to make mistakes! You’ll learn best from making mistakes and having to start over, and you’ll definitely get frustrated. Just take a step back, breathe, and come back to it in a little bit. Always make sure you have fun and don’t take it too seriously!

What is one thing the cosplaying community can do better when it comes to dealing with each other? Honestly, there needs to be some reality. There are people so set on being famous that they will do whatever it takes and step on anyone they need to to get to where they want to be. I’ve only met one person like this though, so the community is normally extremely supportive of everyone. I would say to remember that this is for fun, and not to get famous! If you’re only in it for fame, you’re in it for the wrong reason.
