Goosebumps. That’s exactly what I got at the end of the trailer for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR that just showed on “Good Morning America”. If you haven’t already seen it, take a look, I’ll wait…
We’re finally getting what we were promised in 2012 at the end of the first Avengers movie: enter the Mad Titan, Thanos. The Avengers are finally facing an enemy that will prove to be more than their mettle. From the looks of it, this could truly be the beginning of the end for Avengers as we know them. I have the feeling that this is going to be THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK of the MCU as things don’t look like they’re going to go very well for our heroes. It’s a good thing that this story arc is going to be shown over two movies as it’s something that can’t be rushed or forced to fit into 120 minutes (looking at you JUSTICE LEAGUE). It’s said that it is always darkest before the dawn…hopefully the following dawn will be bright indeed.
Along with the trailer, Marvel’s released the first poster for the movie. It clearly fits in with the aesthetic and iconography already established by the other movies.
“GIVE THAT MAN A SHIELD!” indeed…it really does look like he’s going to need it.AVENGERS INFINITY WAR comes out 4 May 2018.
