Top 5 Anime Characters for Scarlett Johansson

Due to the success of the live action adaptation of Ghost in The Shell, I came up with my top 5 anime characters I think ScarJo could nail!

Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop

As we all know, ScarJo is capable of doing some form of martial arts so this would be an easy role for her to slide into. Portraying Spike would be interesting to see ScarJo do since Spike has a bit of humor to him. To me, ScarJo is known for her seriousness and making every character very serious so it would be fun to see her lighten up.

Umetarō Nozaki from Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun

Nozaki, as he is called in the anime, is very straight forward and I think classic ScarJo! He is completely oblivious to a lot of the simplest aspects of human life and is very blunt. He is very animated in his own way and has his own passions, but still out of touch in some ways. His attitude and demeanor scream ScarJo to me!

Hinata Hyuga from Naruto

This choice should be a no brainer! ScarJo obviously likes to watch the world explode in happiness so why not portray a character who did just that! In the last episode of Naruto, Hinata married Naruto like the fandom wanted and it was emotional. Think of how emotional the world would get if ScarJo played her in a life action movie? I get chills just thinking about it.

Major Motoko Musanagi from Ghost in The Shell

Okay, I know she already did Major Motoko Musanagi but I had to include the most obvious choice on the list! She is a perfect Major, I mean Mira. Major is such an intersectional badass! She is sexy, strong, confident, and totally not a tool for the government and ScarJo really nailed it!

Yoruichi Shihōin from Bleach

Top spot definitely goes to Yoruichi. In an anime that has a serious lack of diversity when it comes to the main characters, I really feel like ScarJo could add something they’re lacking. Honestly, there are already enough brown characters in Bleach. There are like 2 brown or black males so there isn’t a real need for Yoruichi, she is just filler. Also, her humor needs to be toned down so it would be great to see how ScarJo portrays her!
