I really cannot say enough good things about this comic book. From the astoundingly good writing, to the creative and beautiful art, this amazing comic should definitely  be on your list to read before the end of 2016. After Death is an intense and mysterious story about the world after the cure for death is found. It follows a man through this new world as we the audience slowly begin to understand what is happening.

Scott Snyder’s writing in this book is intense, to say the least. Unlike most comics, there are entire pages full of narrative from the main character. It’s an interesting style, and the poetic detail in these narrations is amazing to read. The story is also rather mysterious, and Snyder is doing a great job at using flash forwards to foreshadow events yet to come.

The marvelous art in the book is done by Jeff Lemire. Lemire is known for major titles such as: Justice League Dark, Animal Man, Green Arrow, and loads more. Lemire’s art in this book has a rough, rugged style on the ink, and a water color style for the colors. It certainly doesn’t look like traditional comic book art, but it is beautiful, and I cannot express to you how much I enjoy the art in this book. Not to mention how perfectly it tells the story which Snyder has written. I don’t think there could be a better pair to have worked on this book.
