The comedy world suffered a huge loss today, with the death of acting legend Gene Wilder. Variety & TMZ broke the news earlier that Mr. Wilder’s family confirmed that the actor had passed away at the age of 83.
The star of such classic movies as Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and of course, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, Gene Wilder had a career that spanned several decades, and was involved in several charitable efforts.
Wilder married actress Gilda Radner in 1984 and remained with her until she passed away in 1989. He married again in 1991 to Karen Boyer. He is survived by a daughter, Katharine — whom he adopted in 1967 when he married her mother, Mary Joan Schutz.
