Three new VR games have been announced by Ubisoft.
Over the past few months, we’ve brought you several articles revolving around advances in virtual reality (VR) gaming. Now, it seems that Ubisoft is continuing their bid to throw their hat into the VR market. On top of the Assassins Creed: VR Experience which was announced back in March, the developer has recently said that they will be debuting three new VR titles, beginning in October of this year.
Eagle Flight, the first of the three titles, will allow players to take flight over the city of Paris, France (I wonder where they got the idea for that setting). The gameplay seems reminiscent of a “capture the flag” style, as multiple players hunt for prey, and attempt to take it back to their respective nests while avoiding other players who are trying to take that prey away. The title will be released for the Oculus Rift on October 18th, with a Playstation VR version following on November 8th, and a version for the HTC Vive scheduled for release on December 20th.

The second game, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, will be a co-op game in which multiple players will assume the role of bridge officers aboard the deck of the Starfleet starship “Aegis”. With an amazing voice-over by Star Trek TNG alum Levar Burton, immersive graphics, and team-based gameplay, this one looks to be a serious contender for one of the best Star Trek games ever.
Lastly, Ubisoft brings us Werewolves Within. In this adaptation of the card game Werewolf, players become villagers in a small town, and spend time attempting to use social cues to deduce the identity of the werewolf amongst them. It feels like a departure from the action-oriented games for which Ubisoft has become known, and could be an interesting way to get gamers to interact on a level vastly different to which we are normally accustomed.
With VR making a surge in the gaming market, gamers can be sure to see more entries like these. Stay tuned to Pop Culture Uncovered for more VR gaming news!
