XBox One Slim shipping date has been confirmed!
Xbox fans! By now, you may have heard about the upcoming release of the Xbox One S. Well, we now have an official release date. According to Microsoft, all pre-orders of the $399 Xbox One Slim will be shipped to selected regions on August 2.
The Slim, which was originally code-named “Edmonton”, will have a 2TB hard drive and is said to be 40% smaller than the original Xbox One. In addition to the new storage space & physical size, the XBox One Slim will support video in 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range (HDR). The new version of this console also has a built-in power supply, and one of the three USB ports and the pairing button have been shifted to the front of the Xbox One S, alongside the newly added IR blaster for increased accessibility.
For those who can’t quite justify the $399 price point, Microsoft mentioned that there are also less expensive 1TB and 500GB versions ($349 and $299, respectively) which will be available at a later date, although no details have been provided on when exactly that might be.
Haven’t ordered your Slim yet? Don’t fret! Pre-orders are still available through the Microsoft Store, as well as select retailers.
