E3 Predictions: EA, Ubisoft, and Bethesda

Hey there Folks!

Time for our 4th and final “Pre E3” article. We’ve already talked about our thoughts on Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony so this time I’m going to look at EA, Ubisoft and Bethesda. All of whom are going to be bringing heavy hitters to the table. Just a reminder as we have with the other articles, this is what WE are excited to see, not a report on all the rumors. So please bear that in mind.

Electronic Arts (EA)
EA are in a really weird spot this year; they have opted to not have a booth at the actual convention and instead they have hired out an offsite location nearby, similar to what Legendary pictures did at this years San Diego Comic Con. this will likely increase the number of casual attendees but decrease the number of “Serious Journalists” that come by and as such they need to put on a good showing in their conference. I’m not a big fan of Battlefield so I’ll not really talk about that. We’re likely to see a lot of the annual installments of sport games, but lets look at a few other things.

Titanfall 2: Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a huge fan of the first Titanfall, I am however a big fan of the IDEA of the first Titanfall. Hopefully Titanfall 2 can add the elements we were missing like an actual single player mode to get us invested in the world, destructible terrain, More types of Titans and better Titan Melee options. The teaser had a giant sword in it, so it’s likely.

Rebirth’s Star Wars game: Speaking of Titanfall, it was recently reported that Rebirth, the company behind Titanfall were working on a Star Wars game.  I really want more info on this as well as the rumored Battlefront 1.

Mass Effect: Andromeda: Things have been quiet on the Mass effect front now for a while so I would be very surprised if this was not featured even if it is just to keep the game front and center in our minds.

Criterion Game: Not that I’m all that interested in racing games, but this game is somewhat of an enigma, in 2014 EA featured a video of a game being made by Criterion with no other information, the game skipped the show last year, so I’m just hoping they help us solve the mystery.

Ubisoft
In what has become somewhat of a theme this year, earlier this week Ubisoft dropped an early announcement of Watch_Dogs 2. Will the publicized lack of an Assassin’s Creed game help or hinder Watch_Dogs 2? Who knows? Hell Watch_dogs is all but Modern Assassins Creed anyway. We’re aware that will be shown so I’ll not really address it here. I’m sure Aisha Tyler will be back too. (screw the haters, I find her entertaining as hell)

Ghost Recon: WildLands: Not much is known about this title, other than once again the Tom Clancy game that was first revealed last year is the first to be set in a somewhat open world. People have been asking for more information since last E3 and hopefully they will get it.

The Division: Be it DLC or an Expansion, look for information on the long term life of this title, I’m excited to see what is next.

For Honor: Last year Ubisoft showed us a very early WIP build of this first person melee based game we will hopefully hear more on this one.

South Park; Fractured But Whole: What should be Ubi’s star of the show (unless they debut something huge) this game is just a must buy from me. Stick of truth was nothing short of brilliant and I cannot wait for this one

UbiVR: Not hardware, but Ubi are not afraid to try new tech, and there is rumor of a Rabbids VR game and other VR applications buisoft has been working on, so look for that to be heavily featured.

Bethesda
Not one to play their cards close to their chest, Bethesda has made it quite clear that this year is going to be about Dishonored 2. Given the somewhat heavy handed reveal last year people (including myself) have been super pumped.

Dishonored 2: like I said they tipped their had a bit on last years reveal and left us with a lot of questions? That’s Emily? He must be like 18? Wasn’t she queen in the ending? How old is Corvo now? But he’s playable”? How can Emily do these things? ANSWER ME BETHESDA!

Skyrim Remaster: in a move to make things better for the console players, not only a graphical upgrade but I would suspect that there will be announcement of Mod Support much like Fallout 4

Fallout 4: More DLC announcements or Expansion or whatever you want to call them, I would be surprised if there is not something about this.

Quake: Yup, that’s right QUAKE. With the success that Bethesda found in DOOM, it would make sense for them to reboot iD’s other hugely popular franchise, and with Quakecon on the horizon it makes a whole lotta sense.

Prey 2/Wolfenstien 2 : I would not be surprised to see either or both of these pop up at Bethesda’s press conference what they will contain/ No clue. Prey 2 woudl be a rebuild from the sequel that got cancelled a year or 2 ago, and Wolfenstein would be following BJ’s adventures.

Well that wraps up my thoughts on what I am excited to see out of EA, Bethesda and Ubisoft What about you guys out there. What do YOU want to see out of these conferences. What are YOU excited for? Let us know in the comments below!
Check back next week for our more in depth coverage of each of the conferences.
