It’s round two between Eren and the armored titan, but there’s a plan in motion to stop him. Will the Survey Corps be able to get through the armored titan’s hard skin?

As the plan to keep the horses safe is still in effect, we get in the head of Commander Erwin and his thoughts of how he got to this point. It’s interesting to know more about this man, since we really don’t know how he rose through the ranks and his mindset of everything that is happening. From this chapter, we can see how his demeanor changed from joining the Survey Corps and becoming a commander. After that, it’s a brawl between Eren and Reiner. The fight is impressive and shows how far the characters have come from their meeting of one another. It’s impressive to see how far Eren has improved as a fighter and has learned some new techniques in the process. Eren isn’t alone in the fight with the Survey Corps getting to show off their new weapons called “Thunder Spears”, developed for dealing with the armored titan and I was impressed with it. It’s risky to use and works with the plot. The dialog is strong in this chapter, especially when it comes to Commander Erwin and his history with the Survey Corps. Him joining them was brief, but the images explain a great deal of what’s going on in his head. 

The art is still really good and hasn’t changed one bit since the last issue. The characters are still very detailed and bone and shine still looks good. The fight between Eren and Reiner looks amazing. The kinetic movement of the brawl is intense, even a few grapples and hold are applied in their fight. The new weapons do look good, but it just reminds me of a giant electrified nail. It’s still a pretty impressive tool to be used.

This new chapter advances the story along and adds some new elements to the story as well. Eren showed off some new moves and new weapons are on display. I highly enjoyed the story and it sucks that I have to wait a month before the next chapter.
