It’s been nearly 15 years since the last Barbershop movie came in the theater.  We have also seen beauty Shop and a few other movies riffing on that theme.  Also during that time we have seen Ice Cube do television as producer on Barbershop: The Series and Are We There Yet?

In this new movie, we will see Ice Cube reprise his role as Calvin who now has a son he is trying to keep out of the clutches of the gangs  in Chicago.

Also in the movie is Regina Hall whose character partners up with Calvin to also run a beauty shop.  Also cast in the movie:  Nicki Minaj, Cedric the Entertainer, Anthony Anderson, Common and a few others.

Malcolm D. Lee, who has directed The Best Man movies is helming this film which will release on April 15, 2016
