The Groovy Grab Bag

The Groovy Grab Bag

Coming to you each week from my prison of doom on the day of Monday. Each week I recount to you the recent (to me at least) media I consumed the previous week in the hope I survive till next Monday. Please do the same in the comments. We may yet survive.

All-New Wolverine #1

Spider-Man 2099 #3

Drax #1

Doctor Strange #2

All-New All-Different Avengers #1

Deadpool & Cable: Split Second #1

Loki: Agent of Asgard #15

This was not a bad week all things considered. Wasn’t expecting it to be so Marvel-centric, but it was worth the time. While Spider-Man 2099 and Avengers could be charitably described as misguided in nature as it is, they’re not emblematic of the overall quality of this week’s offerings. A week featuring Doctor Strange and the return of the best (that’s right) Deadpool team can’t be anything but awesome. I’m glad I can say I enjoyed Doctor Strange more than the previous issue, especially with such a strong team. Deadpool & Cable is likely my favorite book of the week especially since it reunites the former Cable & Deadpool team of Fabian Niceza and Reilly Brown.

Doctor Who: Sleep No More

Flash: Enter Zoom

Master of None

How to Get Away With Murder: Pilot

This week’s viewings in TV weren’t bad either for the most part. While I can’t say Sleep No More had much in the way of an engaging plot. It’s still Doctor Who so it’s at least fun to watch. The same goes for Flash which has a game changing episode depending on how long the ending lasts, and even on a show as fun as this: it’s nice to get a reminder stakes do exist. I’ll have more later to say once I begin my reviews for Master of None, but so far it’s an amazing show that deserves all the accolades it’ll deservedly receive. And I feel horrible for missing out on How To Get Away With Murder which is as stylish as it is diverse. I look forward to seeing more of it.

Video Games:

Marvel: Avengers Alliance

I’ll admit yes, I’m horrible for playing a freemium game like MAA, but it’s addicting: and my current quest to get Wonder Man is too engaging to quit. You know what I mean right guys?

That’s it for this week. Look forward to the next where I finally start dissecting Xenoblade Chronicles.
