It’s Always Raw the Day After… 7/13/2015
Hey there PCU-Maniacs!
I’ve not got a lot of time this week. Construction is happening at my house, so I have asked Mike, one of my cohorts at MBM Wrestling to step up and he graciously agreed. So without further ado, I will hand the show over to him and come back with a follow up thought or two on the other side!!

Thank you Ben for having me back. Hey everyone it’s Mike, and I’ve come back to do yet another edition of 5 points for RAW. So here we go with my 5 thoughts from RAW, which aired July 13th, 2015 from Atlanta, Georgia
1) Can We Stop Starting And Ending Shows With Promos?: So like every other week they once again opened the show with a promo. And as much as I love hearing Paul Heyman talk, because he is a master of the microphone, I would’ve prefered a match to start off RAW. Also the fact they ended with the stereotypical contract signing just felt meh to me.
2) Stardust Returns!: Ok so last night in Atlanta Stardust returned, but lets be brutally honest. If he came out as Cody Rhodes and not as Stardust the roof would’ve been blown off by the pop from the fans. Also the lack of cheers for Stardust kind of shows that too. We all want Cody to be Cody Rhodes again, and we’re hoping it happens sooner rather than later.
3) US Open Challenge: The US Open Challenge is getting so huge that we are now having amazing matches just to see who faces Cena for the opportunity. Now at first it was a Triple Threat Match between Cesaro, Rusev, and Kevin Owens. Owens left, leaving Rusev and Cesaro to fight each other. Man did those two deliver. Especially Rusev. It was a spectacular back and forth match, and honestly would have been a better opener for RAW. The only downer to this was that Rusev was spent going into the match with Cena as it was immediately after the match with Cesaro. Overall, more great quality matches as a result of the US Open Challenge.
4) NXT Divas Invade RAW!: Last night the Divas division just got legit. In one of the hottest moments of the night, Charlotte and Becky Lynch joined forces with Paige, and Sasha Banks joined forces with Naomi and Tamina to take on Team Bella. To see all three NXT divas in the ring doing their submissions at the same time was just beautiful. I really hope creative doesn’t screw this up.
5) Battleground: Now with this being the go home RAW leading into Battleground, I have to say, I’m only excited for the Divas, and Owens vs. Cena. If they had done something better for Lesnar vs. Rollins I’d be more excited for that too. It’s just I don’t know. I hope Battleground is good, but after this RAW, I just don’t know.
3 Stars of Raw
1) Cesaro
2) Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch
3) Rusev

Thanks a lot Mike! I wanted to tie on a thought or two
BONUS THOUGHT
Stephanie McMahon: Okay So I know that given what she was announcing would have put anyone over, but aren’t the authority supposed to be heels? Could they not have used Regal to make this announcement? He’s over as hell as NXT GM and it would have made sense. However, that being said, Steph showing up and seemingly randomly assigning people to people’s teams? What happened to logical, thought-out storytelling? Using scripted backstage segments to tell the story?
BONUS THOUGHT THE SECOND) Royalty Rumble: I’d really hoped after Barrett crushed RTruth last week (I think) that this whole thing was over, but instead this week we get Barrett getting squashed and now there is a battle for the crown at Battleground. I want to care about this because I LOVE me some Wade Barrett, but dammit this is just…just hard to stand.
My 3 Stars of the show:
1) The NXT Divas
2) Paul Heyman
3)Cesaro
