It’s Always Raw…the day after 6/1/15
Hey the PCU Maniacs!
It’s time for another of Ben’s 5 thoughts on Raw, this week dealing with the June 1, 2015 edition that aired.
OK guys long story short; Ben hijacked a TARDIS. (More accurately I’m at the doctors getting my knee looked at that I screwed up yesterday – Ben) Needless to say he won’t be able to give his thoughts this week. So once again you get to hear from Mansa Herndon and his five points on Raw. For the maniacs who don’t know, I’m Ben’s partner on the “PPV Post Mortem” monthly podcast here on PCU. I’m an avid gaming, comic book and most importantly wrestling enthusiast so I know my stuff.
Now before we get started I wanted to give you Maniacs some breaking news: Ben will be beginning g a new podcast YAY!!!!! This time he will once again be partnering with me as well as Micheal Lindenbaum for MBM Wrestling. We will be airing on the TauRadio network starting this week. The show will be about latest news, PPV predictions and general talk in the world of both Pro-wrestling and Sports Entertainment. It’s gonna be awesome so check us out!!! Now Maniacs this doesn’t mean Ben is leaving you. He will still give his Raw 5 thoughts and we will continue our “PPV Post Mortum” podcast right here on PCU for the family!
So as always here is the disclaimer my thoughts differ from slightly Ben’s. So he will give his three stars of the show as well. So let’s get right to it!!
—————————–
1.)THE LABORS OF REIGNS: First can we say how huge that POP Roman got as he entered the ring at the start of the show, it’s about time! Roman is a true Juggernaut not only did he get the ladder match for his brother Dean Ambrose. But he survived 3 qualifying matches to retain his Money in the Bank match space. He had to survive King Barrett then Mark Henry who might I add gave him a World Strongest Slam after the match. The last one was with Bray Wyatt and the Authority got involved!!! Yet he still survived albeit with Ambrose’s help and stood tall. Roman is a beast and teamed with the Lunatic Fringe may be the new most dominant force…just sayin’.
2.)MILLION DOLLAR SHOW OFFS: I loved the ending of the Dolph Ziggler/ Kofi Kingston match the reverse of the roll-up pin that led to Ziggs victory, you just don’t see that anymore! Now this leads to an impromptu 6-man tag match with the New Day versus Ziggs and the PTP. After looking like millions of dollars in the Elimination Chamber Tag Team Championship match, the PTP kept that momentum going. Freaking Titus was a monster in the match and even Darren Young has been outstanding. We are looking at the Future Tag-Team Champs people which has been a looooong time coming. Little off topic can ya’ll imagine Dolgh, the PTP and Lana in a stable? Yeah just give them all the belts! (THAT IS WHAT I SAID! – Ben.)
3.) SPEAK CENA SPEAK: Let me get this straight… I am not a SuperCena fan. His promos for a long time have been pretty cut and paste: Step 1 Pander to fans, Step 2 Hustle, Loyalty, Respect speech, Step 3. Champ is here ending. But this segment with him and Kevin Owens was on it for me. What Kevin said was good, but Cena cut such a passionate promo that he shut Owens up the entire time Cena was out there a feat in itself because Kevin talks a lot! Heck he even talks in the middle of his matches. But Cena brought it on the mike on Raw explaining to Kevin why the kids and even Kevin’s own son follows him, it’s all about “Never Giving Up”. His line “The three words that define you isn’t Fight Owens Fight. No it’s Never Give Up”! Yeah I’m not saying he still got it, just he can still throw good ones out there time to time.
4)BIG RETURNS: At Elimination Chamber we saw the return of Mark Henry. Now on Raw the Big Show returned, making a big statement by KO’ing the Miz and confronting Ryback. Show made it perfectly clear he was taking Ryback’s newly won IC Championship. Big Guy versus Big Slow (no, this is not a typo) let’s see where this goes… or not.
5)DIRTY DIVAS: OK, so someone explain this to me. Nikki Bella has looked strong in last few Title matches. The announce team has been high on her and commenting about her improved wrestling style. She even dominated Paige most of the match tonight on Raw. So why did she have to use the old “Twin Magic” switcheroo to win? Maybe it’s to make Paige look like a credible threat. But to me it diminished not only Nikki, but all the other Divas (Naomi too) that have faced her. It was like the WWE saying “Paige is so scary that the Divas Champ needs to cheat to win”. This one didn’t sit quite right with me.
Lastly the Stone Cold Podcast with Paul Heyman which aired right after Raw. I am a big fan of Stone Cold’s podcast, because he isn’t afraid to ask questions the Internet Wrestling Community want answered. So I am highly interested in what Heyman will be saying to Stone Cold.
So my 3 stars of the Night:
1.Roman Reigns
- PTP
3.John Cena
And that’s it for me Maniacs!!! You can find me on twitter @TezukaK19 or on my blog wacbb.blogspot.com or just listen right here on PCU for “PPV Postmortum”. Not to mention Ben, Mike and my new podcast MBM Wrestling that will have a FB and Twitter page for you so stay tuned. Take Care see you after Money in the Bank!
Thanks Mansa! To be frank, we think along the same lines this week, in terms of 3 stars of the show our 1&2 would be the same, number 3 for me would be, surprisingly. Sheamus. I’m always hesitant to give a “star’ to someone who just cuts a somewhat formulaic promo. Again my apologies on not writing my own column this week, but as I noted before, I was getting my knee checked out after a really nasty fall this last weekend. Hopefully I will be back next week.
Thank you all for reading, leave your responses here or over at my twitter @BobTGoldfish thank you all very much
See you in the Squared Circle
