Video Gamers United Con is coming!

vgu2

In less than two weeks the Video Gamers United convention will hit DC for its inaugural show.   The VGU is a video game convention that will have cash prize tournaments, a cosplay costume contest, free to play demos of varius games, a charity celebrity gaming event, and so much more!  it will be on  August 16th & 17th 2014. We talked to Evie about the show and what to expect and here is what she told us.

  1. What has been the response from people finding out about Video Gamers United?

The response has been extremely great. People keep telling us they have been waiting for something like this to come to this area for a very long time. The best part is that this will be a yearly event in DC and it will only get bigger and better as time goes on.

  1. What are some of the events and types of games can fans expect to see?

We’re going to major tournaments to include Madden, COD, and Guns of Icarus. There’s going to be an actual fighter jet, with a simulator people will be able to check out, and the best is the celebrity gaming event that is going to be so exciting for us.

  1. Will there be any gaming talent gamers can expect to meet and who would u recommend?

There are a lot of people that we’re in talks with but until we finalize everything I’d rather keep that a surprise, but some of the folks we do have is the group Smosh Games that has a great youtube channel, and Trisha Hershberger an amazing cosplayer

  1. Will there be any indie game talent there as well?

We have so many great games, many of those games studios are members of the IGDA, too many to go through but there will be plenty of games that people have never seen that they’ll have a chance to play. We wanted to give both local and out of state indie projects time to shine
